   Talked to a friend yesterday - a sensible guy who has a crucial experience advantage over me, namely he was in the army at one point (as a volunteer).

   Given the media reports and his intuition, he thinks Russian attacks on Poland in the Autumn are plausible.

     Back when we were fighting a different kind of conflict (one without much violence, against an authoritarian government, it was mostly street protests) I discovered I'm good at organisation and team leadership, so if things get ugly I'll probably try to get involved with civil defence.

     When I was 19, conscription was still there, so I have a mobilisation category assigned. In my case it's category D, meaning I'm considered unfit for duty for health reasons and cannot be drafted at peace time.

     I also can't learn first aid (most of it makes me faint/puke), so I feel pretty useless.

     I asked him if it's time to start taking lessons at a shooting range and he said no. He did say it's time to start thinking about stocking up on supplies and fresh water, since limited infrastructure attacks are the most likely. He isn't ruling mobilisation out.

     Also, my (Ukrainian) subtenant is moving out soon, so I'm going to keep the spare room available in case of refugees.

     This flat already saw about a dozen refugees back in 2022 (all of them on their way elsewhere, hence short stays). Europe's such a peaceful continent, isn't it?

     Anyway, fuck Putin, Russia needs to be stopped and preferably broken up into smaller countries. We should have joined this war on the side of Ukraine long ago, but I usually don't say that out loud because I wouldn't be risking my life at the frontline if we did.
