   Also, what a lot of "I have nothing to hide" people miss is that stuff-that-needs-to-be-hidden depends on social and political climate at any given moment and changes with time.

   Being pregnant while crossing the US border used to be a non-issue, nothing-to-hide type thing. Now US fascist lawmakers are pushing for pregnancy tests at the border.

   This is just a very fresh example, there are endless others.

   Once our data is out, we have no control over it. Will it be dangerous in 5-10 years? 👀

     @rysiek used to bother people about that one. particularly "you have nothing to hide *right now*." especially as the Modern Audience likes to crucify people for stuff they did in the past over stuff that was possibly hypernormalized at the time they did it in.
