PBOT has words about more street repairs in Portland:

(July 2, 2026) The paving season continues for the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), as crews will start grinding and repaving an estimated 1.1 lane miles on N Killingsworth Street, between N Borthwick and N Williams avenues, on Tuesday, July 7.

During construction, Portlanders can expect daytime noise and travel delays, particularly during the morning and evening commute. N Killingsworth will remain open with a single travel lane.

The work is funded by Fixing Our Streets, Portland's voter-approved 10-cent gas tax and heavy vehicle use tax for fixing our streets and making them safer for all.

This area of N Killingsworth is a key commercial corridor for North Portland, connecting Jefferson High School, the Portland Community College Cascade Campus and numerous restaurants and shops in the Humboldt neighborhood.

The corridor serves TriMet Line 72, a Frequent Service route and the busiest bus line in Oregon. Transit riders should check trimet.org for impacts.

Sidewalks will remain open at all times for pedestrians.

The maintenance paving crews expect to work from about 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays. Crews will complete one travel lane before starting on the next. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 15.

The traveling public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. Local access to residences and businesses will remain available.

This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
