   #Trump actions signal a move toward #institutionalizing people with #disabilities

   For decades, #disabled people have fought for their #rights to go to school & live alongside peers without disabilities — rights that some fear could be losing ground under Trump.

   Last month, the Dept of #Education announced it would shift oversight of #SpecialEducation to #HHS, led by #RFKJr, whose comments on disabilities such as autism are 🦇💩.

     Yup, first the women, transgenders and immigrants, then the homeless and disabled... the list is only growing people. You could be next.

     Meanwhile, after a #Trump White House push to #police #homelessness, the #DOJ released guidance that lowered the barrier to #institutionalizing any person with a #disability.

     Taken together, the actions signal a worrying return to a reality where people with #disabilities are pushed to the margins of society, advocates said.
