Statements like this assume a LOT.
Assuming a Dem ever has the opportunity. Assuming that SCOTUS doesn't suddenly change their interpretation. Assuming the Dem doesn't take the 'high road'. Assuming that the Dem has a supporting House and Senate. Assuming that a Dem moves swiftly instead of lining up promises for 'next term'.
And this all assumes that Progressives and centrists are on the same sheet of music AND that they bother to vote, assuming, of course, that they will be permitted to.
Am I missing any assumptions here?
