is 16 GB of ram enough in a 2022 lappy? my current laptop has 32 cause I'm a stat whore. if I ever get a dedicated gaming computer or a workstation it will obviously have more than 16.

@georgia apple is shipping crapmacs with like 5gb ram right now so, yes. 8-16gb has been more than enough for daily driving for the past ten years as long as you aren't doing 4k or just flat wasting all of it

The MacBook Neo is positioned as the entry-level MacBook, situated below the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. It was first announced on March 4, 2026, and released on March 11, 2026. As of 2026, it is the least expensive laptop ever sold by Apple. Overview Apple introduced the MacBook Neo as part of its March 2026 product launches on March 4, 2026. @georgia@netzsphaere.xyz as long as youre not playing triple A games, and you're not using windows like a sucker, it's fine. more than enough actually. i've run full IDEs and multitasked on a 15 yr old laptop with less than that and it works fine
