   But everyone loves AI and it is so effective and powerful it should be easy to have a lot of customers and make money, right? Fire in a bottle.

     The dirty secret is there hasn't been any big tech revolution. Just normal progress and many people who really *wish* they had a lightning in the bottle.

     Image recognition and composing text were always tough problems in CS and they have been largely solved. Let's clap. That's an achievement.

     This means you can make a self driving car that works most of the time, a pick and place robot that works ... most of the time.

     The 20 percent isn't a bug fix, it's another millennium problem.

     In the same segment they showed the heavy lifting roomba-like robots that have been around for a decade too and explained that "AI" is going to make automation more possible.

     80 percent... where did we hear that before? Self driving cars and trucks are perfect for 80 percent of driving tasks.

     And yet we still don't see fleets of driverless semi-trucks on the interstate.

     80 percent of coding tasks? Why not?

     That 20 percent is a real problem though.

     Corny news anchor humor voice: "... and that's just because it doesn't have a thumb yet."

     Pick and place machines have been around forever. This is old tech. More promising than humanoid robots IMO. I'm excited for effective automation, I'm not scared of it because it's hard.

     The anchor repeated the talking points from the Amazon press release as if they were facts.
