so if a ship has an accident, will Iran pay for the towing, repairs, cargo losses, environmental damage?
because this is what shipping insurance companies do in this part of the world.
I bet the "insurance" coverage will be limited to the 150 km of the Strait, while the premium being huge...

maybe they could charge the ships for the service of local pilots, who join the bridge crew during the voyage, and show them the safest route thorugh the Strait with their AK-74.
