   I'd like a second opinion from people who really know #electronics, #batteries, or #PlayStation controllers.
   My DualSense stopped responding mid game. I force powered it off, turned it back on... but it wouldn't come back on. It said full charge when it failed. Left it charging overnight, no change. Turns on when plugged in to a computer, computer reacts to input from it. Shows pulsing LEDs when charging
   Tested pack on battery tester, quicky drops to 3.39v.
   Liklihood new battery will fix this?

     @fullywoolly 3.62v, and it was about the amount of time it took me to type a 2 line post, attach an image, and type a 1 line alt text.

     @hellomiakoda what was the starting voltage when you plugged the battery in and approximately how quickly does it drop to 3.39V? The fast change is concerning but I'd still expect that to be in the working voltage range.

     The fact that your controller seems to be working when plugged in, if it were me, I'd try replacing the battery first.

     @fullywoolly Welp, I thought to try another 2 tests that appear to seal it's fate. Connnected to PS5 by cable, no function, only charging pulse LEDs. Plugged it in to my laptop again, it appears... but I noticed all the face buttons fail to respond. That includes the PS logo button, required to make the PS5 use that controller. Seems somehow, something involving the membrane has failed. That'd also prevent me from using BT pairing, or waking it up!

     @hellomiakoda wow the last place I worked we ran ours down to ~2.7 for testing. If the controller is expecting 3.7V, definitely try replacing the battery.

     @fullywoolly I hadn't thought to test every button the first time I plugged it in. I plugged it, touchpad functioned as mouse (which is normal under Linux), and since I was overly focused on it being dead vs alive, it didn't occure to me to poke buttons and look for responses.

     Found the failure! The little pad that presses the bebrane's connector pads against the mainboard's pads has gone goey!

     @fullywoolly Yep! I stuffed a little cardstock in there to test, put the mainboard in and plugged in the battery, pressed PS logo - and beep - PS5 responded immediately! YAY! I don't need to spend $75! I just need to find something to replace that little pad with!

     @fullywoolly I might something.... Double stick foam tape, carefully timmed to fit, with the 2nd plastic film left on (making it single stick). I think that'll be the right thickness. I just have to pick the horrid goo out of where it goes without damaging any of these delicate ribbon cables or the membrane.

     @fullywoolly The pad seems to have been 1mm, the tape is 1mm. This should work!

     @fullywoolly Part of why I wanted to save this one, aside from not wanting to spend $79, was... This controller was the pack in with my launch day PS5. I like to keep my original controller alive as long as possible.

     @fullywoolly How shit have little foam pads gotten?! It's one thing to find it gooey or dust in an 8-track cartridge from the 70s or inside some laptop from the early 90s.... but in a PS5 controller?! C'mon!
