   So people are totally now using AI models for regular stuff that you can do via shell scripts and cron, because why do something for free when you can burn tokens and at the same time actively forget how to use the normal tools at your disposal?

     @ehproque @jschauma I once asked AI to count characters in a sentence that needed to be maximum 24 characters long. It said there were 23. To be sure, I counted them myself. There were 25.

     It felt very efficient though.

     Drives me a bit bonkers to see folks with their "I built this lightweight¹ CLI application in Rust using $LLM" when the core functionality can be performed by a shell one-liner.

     I mean, sure, a tiny piece of me is glad they're getting into software-tool development, but that's such a horrible way to do it. 😑
