   Of course, this isn’t happening, the ship is in the harbour. Everyone who’s free of symptoms is allowed to do as they please. While isolation is requested, it’s not enforced. And tests are not done for 40 days! Negative PCR now means they can leave 😵💫

     Yes, I thought they would have brought it onboard with them, as the incubation period is 6 weeks, so they contracted it before they sailed.

     As fear and terror spread across #Spain, awaiting first PCR test results for symptomatic patient in #Alicante who was in contact with the first victim of the deadly "Los Andes" strain of #Hantavirus. If contagion is confirmed,
     she will be evacuated to "Gómez Ulla" Central Defense Hospital, a military hospital specializing in #CBRN #Warfare.
     HCD "Gómez Ulla" will also house 14 Spanish passengers who will be removed from MV #Hondius on arrival

     "Los Andres" virus is believed to be the strain of #HantaVirus responsible for deadly outbreak on MV #Hondius cruise ship, which is headed to #Tenerife, Canary Islands It's capable of human-to-human transmission through contact with #Feces, #Urine, or #Saliva, or via Flugge droplets. Meanwhile, in #Spain, fear is spreading after a symptomatic case in #Alicante, Comunidad de #Valencia, is awaiting #PCR test results.

     #HantaVirus has an incubation period of one to six weeks, making it likely that cases to skyrocket in next week.
     Main problem is that a patient can evolve from serious to critical condition in just 12 hours
     Preliminary estimates of lethality of "Los Andes" strain of HantaVirus are that of 38%.

     The way I understand it, is that passengers will be flown to their home countries and quarantined there, on arrival.

     The country I live in soon adopted a 'let it rip approach' re. Covid.
     So I don't have great hopes for us in case of another pandemic apart from the little hope that maybe this Hantavirus doesn't mutate successfully, or that these people don't carry it.

     They won't need compensation. This cruise was very costly, surely people will have more funds available.
