     @thatbrickster @mangeurdenuage @noyoushutthefuckupdad yeah, fidelity of content also matters, and IMO most of the AAA games have way too much fidelity for no reason but "looks great" (and then smeared with UE5 default awful render pipeline (TAA, Nanite, Lumen))
     
     Rhythm games also naturally suffer from content bloat with all the available songs (thinking mostly of arcades), Groove Coaster arcade literally shut down because they ran out of disk space and decided not to upgrade the hardware lol

     @mangeurdenuage Even if assets were optimised for size, genres like racing would suffer from content bloat. I like driving shitboxes as well as GT and LMP cars, on tracks from all over. A single-layer BD, 25GB, would struggle to hold it all.
