   Today is the first time I've felt exhausted by the mastodon community. Almost all of the angst is coming from a few "old guard" that seems dead set to assume I'm either a corporate shill or ridiculously demanding.

   I've engaged with them in good faith, trying to understand only to have my arguments strawmaned into extreme positions.

   I'm a #UX designer. There are problems here and we should be able to talk about them. I'm not in a rush, I'm just trying to help

     @scottjenson This article might be of help? It helped me understand what Mastodon is trying to achieve a lot.
     To me, coming from the Twitter world, it felt like walking into another world and seeing and learning new things and ways, which is very exciting. Maybe, trying to understand the new way instead of trying to change it your way first is a better approach in the end?

     @rriver this is exactly the type of comment I'm referring to. Where did I say anything about changing it to *my* way? That's pure projection.

     I'm a #ux designer, there are clear ux issues that should be discussed. I'm not forcing any solutions! I just want to talk. Why is that so threatening?
