     @inthehands @griotspeak Your SUV is allowed to go 25mph in a residential neighborhood? Ok, an eight year-old on an e-bike can go 200 something miles an hour. Fair's fair.

     I’m with you. It’s the wrong details, maybe, but the correct approach. Come up with standards for a family of things like:

     ⁃ kinetic energy
     ⁃ dimensions
     ⁃ driver visibility of surroundings
     ⁃ stopping distance
     ⁃ etc

     And then set min/max thresholds for:

     ⁃ sidewalk
     ⁃ streets with pedestrians
     ⁃ freeways
     ⁃ driver’s license
     ⁃ special large vehicle license
     ⁃ etc

     …that apply regardless of vehicle type.
