But if they took out the “bike” and applied it to motorcycles and cars and trucks, they’d have my attention -

@inthehands @griotspeak Your SUV is allowed to go 25mph in a residential neighborhood? Ok, an eight year-old on an e-bike can go 200 something miles an hour. Fair's fair.

@inthehands @griotspeak I want kinetic energy limits. Is that too much to ask for?

I Can't Believe It's Not Zero!
@inthehands @griotspeak (I'm sort of joking, because actual safety risks are a bit more complex than just kinetic energy, but I'm also sort of not joking).

I’m with you. It’s the wrong details, maybe, but the correct approach. Come up with standards for a family of things like:⁃ kinetic energy
⁃ dimensions
⁃ driver visibility of surroundings
⁃ stopping distance
⁃ etcAnd then set min/max thresholds for:
⁃ sidewalk
⁃ streets with pedestrians
⁃ freeways
⁃ driver’s license
⁃ special large vehicle license
⁃ etc…that apply regardless of vehicle type.
