   #Possums are the only #marsupial animal innNorth America. They eat pretty much anything from fish to snakes to veggies but they eat ticks (a possum might eat 5,000 ticks per year) so humans should thank them? They almost never get rabies b/c their internal body temperature is too low.

     I leaned that they call them opossums in the Americas, that it's an indigenous word somewhere there, and that the possums in Australia, of which there are many different types, were named after the opossum by Europeans!
