@paraic @Gargron @mastohost What browser is it?
Does its dev tools have a window dedicated to web sockets? They're used to populate the timelines.

@paraic Are you using any sort of VPN?
Do you have browser extensions on Safari?
Is there anything custom with your internet connection?
Can you try connecting using a different device like your mobile phone via the browser or using a different browser in your desktop?
Sorry for all the questions/requests but it's hard to debug without having more information.
@dregin @Gargron @mastohost I have to go cook the dinner. Thanks for spending time on this.
@paraic @Gargron @mastohost no, but it would be handy to see if there was at least something there to point us in the right direction. I'm seeing very similar warnings and errors in Safari here, but my local timeline is complete.
Could you have a rogue filter set?
@dregin @Gargron @mastohost because it's happening everywhere I assumed it wasn't a client or user agent issue
@paraic So great! No problem at all. It happens often and I forgot to mention that :) Glad it's working
@mastohost @dregin ok I have found it and am mortified. I started going through every preference one by one. Preferences set to restrict public timeline posts to Italian only (which I don’t speak by the way). No idea why/when that would have happened. Hope I haven’t wasted too much time #mortified #pebcak
