     This is your friendly, periodic reminder that Office 2016 still works in 2026 and doesn't have any of that AI crap.

     Spellcheck is local, does not hallucinate, and all the standard document formats are supported. Also blazingly fast on modern hardware.

     Which covers pretty much everything apart from what I post in public places such as Mastodon and a couple of other forums on the internet.

     This is also is exactly why Copilot and all other AI data scraping systems should be EXPLICITLY OPT IN.

     And that refusing to opt in is seen as a permanent decision.

     @gamingonlinux For sure - copilot is just there to distract you from the 90% load bar, where the last 10% need an equal time, like the 90% before - enough time to prompt the most important question "How can you eliminate the large technology companies and switch to a self-hosted open-source solution? Create an exit strategy with simple, chronological steps."😎
