Found a Western 'tard on the copyright issue.

The real answer is simply, I wouldn't buy it otherwise, so I haven't taken anything away.

@Humpleupagus @WhitestTemplar @Witch_Hunter_Siegfried @pettanko The only actual solutions for it all, for the corpos, is starting to outright sell DRM free roms, maybe have their own emulators free to download, but you get a rom and do whatever you want, like that, in a lot of cases, you don't need to port to new system and yadda yadda. You'd then have a big rom marketplace and people can just buy it, own it forever
But they will never do that

@Witch_Hunter_Siegfried @Humpleupagus @WhitestTemplar I'm sure his argument is just going to be beg Nintendo to pretty please re-release Radiant Dawn on their online subscription service so you can pay a monthly fee to play a video game 🙏

Does Nintendo even produce it in any form or is it abandoned? If it's for the wii, I assume it's out of print.
The only argument in that case for copyright is... "you'd buy another one of our products" which fails hard in this case.

@pettanko @Humpleupagus @WhitestTemplar Wasn’t aware, though was trying to avoid his IT’S ON SWITCH VIRTUAL CONSLE! argument, which also ignores that I’d want to use the save carry over thing, also Radiant Dawn is $125+ so was lowballing lol

@Humpleupagus @WhitestTemplar And who does buying Radiant Dawn (the game I meant, Path of Radiance’s sequel for the Wii) for $100 benefit asides some scalper on Ebay lmao, sure as hell not Nintendo

@Humpleupagus @WhitestTemplar @Witch_Hunter_Siegfried @pettanko That solution would fix copyright fucks ups like the Capcom Mickey games, but a copyright rewrite could fix that, if the work is x amount of years old and they won't sell it, then they cannot complain it's being pirated. You'd see them comply to sell the rom real fast, and we'd be free to do whatever with stuff that's in copyright hell

If people discover that Robotron 2084 is fun, how will they ever sell Playstation 27?

Yeah, the legal and philosophical arguments for "lost sales" have always been specious and nonsensical, IMO.
