     • For better or worse there isn't anything even remotely as portable and media agnostic as #PGP…
       • I'd too prefer something simpler but AFAICT there isn't something that is secure, self-hosting capable, auditable, self-custody, decentralized and agnostic to media.
       • Alternative implementations like enc also do the same!

     @empathicqubit I think it's bad trying to compete with #Signal because of the aforementioned issues.

     • And don't get me started on their #Shitcoin (#MobileCoin) and unsustainable business incl. hard lock-in on #aws.
       • Making them depend on the goodwill of #amazon.and thus the #US Government is just irredeemably wrong…

     Call me a oaranoid tinfoilhat, but Signal has the same stench as #ANØM & #CryotoAG before then…

     @kkarhan @empathicqubit @delta Interop with simplex is a non-goal. I've laid out my plans for PGP replacement before. It will take time and dedicated engineering effort, but my spite is limitless.

     I just don't expect that to happen anytime soon.
