     @mttaggart I think if other mastodone and fediverse clients would build in the simple function of AI to help generate alt text - as Icecubes apps and micro.blog web apps have, that would help.

     @mttaggart My experience with this function in those apps is it just helps spur you to tweak it in most cases, it doesn't just encourge mindless Ai driven alt-text automatically.

     @tchambers I have asked after this, and I believe the general consensus is that generative alt text without context is worse than nothing.
