@Mastodon please consider doing children's t-shirts next! 🤗
@joacim @Mastodon What does this mean? When has that ever happened?
@Mastodon Can we wear them in public without you suing us for displaying the Mastodon name in public?
@joacim @Mastodon When you wear a t-shirt with our logo, I think it’s unlikely anyone would assume that you are a service operated by Mastodon GmbH, so there is less room for confusion.

@joacim @Mastodon Wouldn’t it be better to use “social” as a subdomain anyway, in case you ever want to swap out the software powering it?
@Gargron @Mastodon but I can't use the word "mastodon" for my instance? ie mastodon.whatever.tld.
@Mastodon I'd love to wear the designs (also when doing outreach), but unisex cuts don't work for my body shape. Please consider female specific cuts for some of the next releases 💚
@joacim @Mastodon The policy has been in place for multiple years, and it’s pretty standard for any open source project. Some servers that predate the policy have requested explicit permission to continue using the trademark.
@Gargron @Mastodon That's one opinion. I'm still wondering about your legal language and the name of my Mastodon instance.
There are more examples, like mastodonsweden.se or mastodon.nu - You're going to take action against them?
I understand you want to protect your trademark but the rules regarding what to name our instances and what hostnames/domain names we use is very overreaching.
@joacim @Mastodon A couple things: I’m not sure you would have a good time keeping a domain name with “microsoft” in it; I don’t think anyone has threatened you; and you’re not a customer, Mastodon is free and open source. Do whatever you like.
@Gargron @Mastodon Not even Microsoft would threaten it's customers for naming a server "exchange.domain.tld".
I guess I'll just have kill my instance and leave Mastodon then. I thought Mastodon was something else. Too bad it turned out to be yet another corporate bullshit operation behind the scenes.
@jan @Mastodon Email me at eugen@joinmastodon.org with the translation and I’ll put together a Czech copy.
@Mastodon I would like to have poster in Czech language, is there something I can do about it?
@joacim @Mastodon Before you make any hasty decisions though I would recommend reaching out to trademark@joinmastodon.org via email to clarify your specific use of the trademark.
@Mastodon Nächste Kollektion "Mastodon ist nicht das Fediverse!!!"
@Mastodon That t-shirt fits so well with this actually: https://mastodon.social/@madeindex/116381133582413117
