I keep seeing the word "ironic" to describe the actions of the fuel price protesters (burning up fuel in HGVs and tractors, blocking fuel depots, disrupting public transport) - I think the word you're looking for is "moronic".

@TimWardCam @ccferrie Horses? We've plenty of free wind in Ireland and electric tractors already have a lower TCO compared to derv--even without the Middle East burning. Plus, who wants a carcinogenic diesel particulate marinade on their spuds?

@ccferrie Farmers have only used fuel for tractors for a tiny fraction of the industry's history. I'm not saying that they could all revert to horses overnight, but hey, some contingency planning perhaps?
