     no surprise they’re slop guzzlers. But systemd has often seemed to be his little “I’m so important” project. I used to defend it since it had indeed made some reasonable choices…
     
     But man. A fucking init system should not be reporting on whether I’m of age. In fact, my computer shouldn’t do that, period. Zero investigations or prosecutions of people in the Epstein files, yet we already have age verification in Linux due to a sudden flurry of legislation introduced in a bunch of states?
     
     Supposedly Facebook, who caused a genocide and gives money to a pedophile rapist, is pushing for this? Fuuuuuuuuuuck all of this
     
     I get that not everyone can break the law and not implement this, but in many jurisdictions it’s not even a law, and many of us are not subject to it. Plenty of fascist coders in states without these laws perfectly happy to start tracking us for king pedophile under the guise of “protecting children”. Fuck this nonsense.

     I think every fucking "protect the children" bill should have to come with some real fucking evidence or research as to how, exactly, it is going to "protect the children". "Would this have done anything to stop Epstein?" "What ways are children being harmed now and how would this stop it?" People who raped and trafficked children are holding the reins of society and demanding we all build the bricks of our own prison
     
     I'm no expert but I suspect "universal health care", "maternity/paternity leave", "food access programs", "universal free education", etc, would go a long way towards "protecting the children" as a start. I bet that people who specialize in this have great ideas, as well, and that probably none of them are "your computer spies on you".
