   FWIW when I lived in Spain for a little bit people looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about iced coffee.

   I finally broke down and went to a McDonalds because I thought, you know, surely, they'd do iced coffee there.

   And I did my best in Spanish to ask for coffee over ice, and the guy at the counter was like "ah yes I know exactly what you want" and gave me...

   ...a shot of espresso in a paper cup, with soft serve iced cream in it.

     @Miredly @chu my American coworkers were very annoyed when we went to China and every cup of water was hot by default, just as I’m annoyed by ice by default

     Did that last a long time? When I was there for a while, most of the people I knew from the US had a pretty quick transition from "what the actual hell why is the water all hot" to "Oh my god they have hot water fountains everywhere I'm gonna get super into tea"
