It's such a harsh situation for renters and rural dwellers.
Landlords dgaf about renter's costs & will add nothing to a property (heat pumps, panels) unless it directly benefits them.
Impossible to do without a car even where I live & it's not remote. EV out of the question for most people (cost, ability to charge).
Saw a local news report about people who are forced to rely on oil for heating & hot water (there's plenty) & how oil suppliers have at least doubled their prices
