     @lumi@snug.moe idk if he works there or not, but i remember him giving a talk where he was pretty much advocating for centralized services, mostly because they are easier to deploy and easier to patch through or something like that (his words, not mine. i definitly prefer decentralized services). i might missremembering tho

     @lumi@snug.moe ye never really was a big fan of him. i mean i respect what he did with the whole encryption stuff and also his part at bringing secure messengers into the minds of many people (not only him tho, don't want to give him all the credit to that), in the early days.
     but ye, nowadays, he pretty much never has a take that i can agree with anymore. but sadly a whole bunch of people still see him as an authority figure and trust every word he says

     @puniko he has done multiple talks and blog posts about it, starting with that "the ecosystem is moving" post
     
     he has been spreading this harmful rhetoric for over a decade
