@Notsonoble It very much sounds like a client issue. I have no idea how tokodon is like, but what I'm assuming is that it's using only the mastodon API for authentication and all, but maybe they're depending on recent changes? I could try updating the instance this weekend, but I have no idea if it'll fix anything
