@Sui @kroner @NecroHole some modern games work. Helldivers2 did for me as does counterstrike and deadlock but other games like Fortnite, league, and valorant are a no go.

What's that affect like newer online games? Because I don't bother with that slop really, the industry's gone to shit and I'm very fatigued. I stick with modded up classic games/indie titles that catch my attention.

@Sui @kroner @NecroHole classic games tend to work better on Linux than windows. Wine keeps more older windows comparability stuff then modern windows tho games may still need some tinkering (tho frankly most older pc games need tinkering anyway on modern windows).

Modern single player games also tend to work well. For instance I bought and played Romeo is a dead man by grasshopper (one of the few game studios which makes games for their fans not critics) which game out 2026 and it worked on launch day minus bugs present in the windows version.

@Sui literally the only gaming issue I have had on Linux is any game that has kernel level anti-cheat

Linux Mint is extremely comfe, also Steam with ProtonDB solves the gaming issue for the most part already

What about classic games? I tend to avoid modern bullshit and compatibility's already a bit fucky even on windows.

Just start backing things up bit by bit, microslop'll give you the motivation to jump sooner or later. Probably sooner at this rate of enshitification.

I got recommended tuxedo or mint with wine, but I'll probably go with whichever works best with vidya games and has the best performance.

@Sui I really need to get on linux, the only thing holding me back is procrastination and my own laziness.
Maybe I'll get to it tomorrow. Or next week.

Even microslop is tired of microslop, but instead of correcting course they just start banning shit. I'm sure that'll work.

      Spoiler: It didn't work.
