@mgoggie @cstross everybody reacts like that, not just young people… last year I got covid, bad, at a trade show. Told one of my colleagues and he had that exact same reaction: “wait, Covid is still around?”

#covid Just sitting by a path and two young people jog by. One says “I can’t believe she got Covid. Does anybody even get that any more?” The other says “Does that even still exist?”

@Heartofcoyote @Infoseepage @otolithe @mgoggie There *is* a broad-spectrum anti-coronavirus sterilizing vaccine now in human clinical trials—squirt it up the nose to sensitize the immune cells where they get into the body, in addition to COVID19 it's good for SARS, MERS, probably future strains of COVID19 that haven't evolved yet, and about 50% of common colds.
I want it so bad ...

@Infoseepage @otolithe @mgoggie @cstross There are multiple strains that have become endemic. They’re everywhere. People just think they’re not bc the existing COVID strains have attenuated (become less severe) and aren’t causing hospitalizations as much. This is the normal course of viruses.
However, the more people who acquire and become incubators for viruses, the more they have the opportunity to mutate into a severe strain again.
I think we should’ve educated people more about #viruses instead of talking just about COVID. Even if COVID were eliminated (impossible), *there will always be another one.*
All we can do is teach good hygiene, and yes, masking is hygiene.
