   @chris DDG didn’t seem any better than Google or
   bing.

   Not the latest “craze”, but for me, switching over to Kagi about 2 years ago was a refreshing change. Since it’s a -paid- service with a business plan: no ads, and they have revenue streams which hopefully will avoid enshittification.

     @mako I’ve played with it. I found it OK for results and, to be honest, I just don’t trust that paying them really does mean anything for their future. I think it’s a “fool me once…” response due to the rest of tech.

     @mako Same. I’m still on DDG for that reason. It used to be also because they had better results and I’m sad they’ve lost that advantage.
