    Schrödinger's sacred caste:
If the person belongs to a special group, and has committed a serious crime, then the special identity is a mere coincidence and is best not even mentioned and anyone who notices needs to be insulted for even thinking about it, and the victim possibly deserved it for not celebrating the special identity enough.
If the person belongs to a special group and is the victim of a serious crime, then the special identity is of paramount importance and needs to be mentioned at every opportunity because the crime must have been committed to punish the person for their special identity and every media outlet must talk about it endlessly and demand that yet another law be passed.

@KeepTakingTheSoma This is exactly how it works with trans. Trans are always the victims not the perpetrators of a crime. Always, and the media falls in line. When a crazy TIM shoots up a school, or commits some other heinous crime, the media reports it as a "woman", or uses the latest idiotic term, "gun person". If the victim is transgender, the headlines always say "transgender person" attacked. It's "woman", or "gun person" when they commit crimes, and transgender when they are victims.
