@sezduck it’s still a status symbol for people who aren’t necessarily #tech people or power users. You can trade in for little money and there’s enough changes, however little or “un-iPhone-like” that people change phones or to the new colors just to show it off. They use it for iMessage, TikTok, YouTube etc. and it works for that.

I’m kinda baffled by Apple’s recent record breaking quarter - especially in terms of iPhone sales.
iOS is uglier & buggier than ever. Siri is stuck in the early 2010’s. And, IMO the iPhone 17 Pro models are a bit disappointing (I’m not a fan of the design & the ditched the titanium which was actually a nice feature).
One thing that clearly helped is that they *finally* included long overdue features in the base model iPhone (e.g., 120Hz refresh rate).

⁃ Apple added Siri to iOS in 2011.
⁃ Apple announced massive improvements to Siri with Apple Intelligence in 2024.People say Apple is “behind on AI.” Most iPhone users don’t care about that. They just want a Siri that doesn’t suck. This should’ve happened *before* the big LLM hype started (i.e., well before 2022).
