I find this discussion so unnecessary.
Is Linus terminally ill? No.
Do the BSD projects share this concern? No.
The impression is that they want to sideline him, remove him from the project.
@ricardo I understand what you're saying. I was referring to Linus's health, not the health of the project. My comment stems from the fact that they're pushing this "succession" too hard, and I think it's unnecessary. If Linus leaves, the project continues, just as the BSDs have continued and will continue with the rotation of project leaders.
@xenotar It wasn’t meant as a discussion about the health of Linux as a project, but a reminder of how crucial it is to establish legal foundations for new open source projects and foundations that prevent corporations from ultimately hijacking and appropriating them
