   You can no longer ask a woman “are you single?” and rely on a simple yes. The answer is effectively meaningless and no longer allows for any reliable or reassuring conclusions.
   
   In 2026, a woman describing herself as “single” may still mean any or all of the following:
   
   1. Actively having sex with at least one man, or had sex within the past fortnight. No title though so technically single. She may omit or lie that she is sexually active.
   2. 1,000+ matches & 100+ messages on a dating app.
   3. Dozens of men in her DMs.
   4. Texting multiple men.
   5. Maintains a "rotation" or a "roster".
   
   Accordingly, rather than asking “are you single?”, the only question that now provides meaningful clarity is the following:
   
   Are you presently engaged in, or have you at any time during the relevant period of time been engaged in, any form of communication, association, interaction, or relationship with any other male individual or individuals, whether romantic, intimate, sexual, or otherwise, be it casually or seriously, including but not limited to dating, meetings, sneaky links, hangouts, "chilling", "kicking it", ongoing contact, or involvement of any kind, whether conducted in person or through electronic means, including text messages, direct messages, dating applications, social media platforms, or any other form of digital or written communication?
