1. The 1997 "Torn" music video features Natalie Imbruglia in a fixed-shot, dimly lit apartment, portraying emotional vulnerability through a meta-narrative where she breaks character as an actress. She wears baggy clothing—a grey sweater and trousers—reflecting her insecurity and desire to hide her body during filming. Key Visual Elements: Setting: A single, sparse apartment scene that never changes angle, highlighting a trapped,, isolated feeling. The Metaphor: The room features mirrors, representing brokenness and a fractured identity following a breakup. Action: Interspersed with scenes of her singing, she interacts with a man (actor Jeremy Sheffield), but these moments reveal they are on a set, often fumbling lines. Disruption: A director and crew members occasionally enter the scene to reposition them, disrupting the romantic illusion. Final Scene: The walls of the apartment begin to wobble and warp, suggesting the artificiality of her situation. The video focuses on her intense facial expressions, conveying bewilderment and sadness, rather than elaborate choreography
