   It seems impossible to find out how one might *manually* install a *buntu .

   Literally every result is essentially a wildly prolix rewording of "copy iso to usb, boot usb, click install".

   I know we go on about "enshittification" but this is more like infantilisation. is everyone in Linux such a fucking baby now that they can only click "install" ?

     @botvolution That’s unfortunate. The magic word here is “debootstrap”, but you’ll only know to search for that if you’re already quite familiar with the process.
