Good times.-

jcn (jcn@ruby.social)'s status on Monday, 21-Nov-2022 08:54:30 JST jcn @hypolite here we’ve banned single-use plastic bags in a lot of situations which just leads to retailers selling “reusable” (and heavier) plastic bags which then get brought home and also thrown out after a single use.

hypolite (hypolite@friendica.mrpetovan.com)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Nov-2022 06:36:04 JST hypolite @mcv I've been fortunate enough (in the income sense) to always have had a grocery store at walking distance, so I used a hand cart for groceries when I started shopping for two. -

mcv (mcv@nerdica.net)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Nov-2022 07:26:35 JST mcv @hypolite That's a great idea. Also, if the shop is nearby, you can easily go multiple times per week so you don't have to do a week's groceries at once. I sometimes walk, sometimes I take my cargo bike. And I've gotten pretty good at stacking ridiculous amounts of groceries in my arms so I can just carry it to my bike without even using a bag. But I admit that's a bit weird.

hypolite (hypolite@friendica.mrpetovan.com)'s status on Wednesday, 30-Nov-2022 22:48:40 JST hypolite @mcv It's just internal frequency distribution, I've seen more single men use backpacks for groceries than any other category. Handbags (plastic or reusable) have less connotation in my mind. -
