     @FluentInFinance At the job I held the longest... I worked my ass off. I wanted my manager to meet his number. Team player! Yeah! ...Then I asked for a raise at the end of the year. Apparently, I had "just missed it by a little bit". I put in all the effort I possibly could! Manager said I was doing great! End of the year, "Raise freeze".
     For the 5 years after that, I did the minimum, by the letter, and nothing more.
