Wow, I just learned that "Tivoization" applies to Tesla cars as well. They ship a custom OS using Linux in their cars, and don't have to provide you with a way of installing your own OS on it thanks to Linux being GPLv2-only.

So, if the FSC were to succeed in their lawsuit that argues that the GPLv2 actually *is* supposed to prevent "Tivoization" then I suppose Tesla could also end up being forced to officially support custom software installations in their cars.

Imagine if Linux were GPLv3...
