   I think I’m ready to make some big waves this year.

   I have a tiny ebook coming out so that everyday people can learn how to do what I do so they can get the evidence to push back on bad ai at work or school, and I have some papers I’m sitting on and some interesting benchmarks I’m trying to build.

     The interesting and also challenging thing about this space is: there is so much to do.

     There aren’t many paid opportunities to do the meaningful work.

     There isn’t a well defined career ladder. You do this then that happens.

     Every single opportunity I got in this list I’ve had to be exactly at the right place at the right time. I’ve had to beg. I’ve been the person in the room who’s like, YOU NEED SOMEONE TESTING BURMESE / THAI / VIETNAMESE PLS.

     It hasn’t always been smooth. In many ways I don’t fit the typical profile of the AI/ML/NLP bro.

     But I’m resolute that my ‘other people need safety too’ perspective is something that defines my work and I will continue to advocate for that.

     There is a whole industry emerging for someone who can test/ evaluate how well a genAI system is working because most companies (and ever manager) who build them have no idea if they are actually working.
     Granted, most of them want confirmation biased answers but they might accept honest answers too.
