   As a Venezuelan still in Venezuela I'd comment on the current situation, but literally no one gives a shit and talks whatever lunacy first come to their minds, so why bother? All I know is that Maduro and his wife are gone, but there are other 3 factions left, one which already assumed power and (hopefully) will negotiate with a bit more wisdom than the other 2. Meanwhile, the kikes are rubbing their hands as if they were jerking off :jew:

     @captain_arepa Yeah, I even have Sardinian, French, Pashtun, Arawak and Carib as well as Tupi-Guarani in flowing through my mom's blood.
     
     I do know she code-switches from General American English into Trini vernacular when conversing with family, but I don't speak it (as well as younger members in the American branch of the family) since this dialect is hard to understand, and I see no reason is talking in this nor will I ever teach my future kids this shit
     
     Maybe in a musical context perhaps, though I rarely ever listen to Trini music.
     
     But I can understand it to some extent, it's less unintelligible than say Jamaican.

     @Charfuhrer@eientei.org Yeah, but my mom's family have mixed to the point where they probably don't know which ethnic party to vote for, not that I know anything about their political views.Most pardo people here are like that, nobody knows what ethnic group they belong to... you can kinda tell by their skin tone and phisiognomy :02_shrug:I was quite surprised about being Panyol too, a much smaller group descended from Venezuelan peasant workers and landowners whose ancestors primarily came from the Canary Islands.Canarians are the most based White group in Venezuela, ngl... they went from being considered below niggers and slaves in the early days to basically become the most powerful landowners and run the country throughout most of the 19th Century :kekw:
     
     The family branch I belong to are mostly of Canarian and Portuguese descent, the only exception would be my maternal grandmother, who was half- Amerindian and half-Corsican :akko_derp:

First, they were Hindus, as once the family's earliest resident, with the surname Khan, who came from Faizabad in Jeetland (in the North, and thankfully not the South), then they were Muslims because they converted and intermarried with Muslims, and now they're just Catholics because they converted again.

But my mom probably already knew about this ancestry, she was just being vague about it when she answered with "Venezuelan".
     
     Most Local Whites in her country are of Portuguese stock but aren't the only Whites.

     @Charfuhrer@eientei.org That's quite the mix, tbh, considering how racially segregate things look in Trinidad... unlike here where class is above race. Most of the time it doesn't matter your skin color, but your surname, the street where you live, what school you go to and so on. I've been kinda lucky on that regards, sometimes to a frightening degree.

     @captain_arepa I think she doesn't like either party because she thinks differently and the fact her family are creole mutts (Dougla and Cocoa Panyol and Local-White) so she probably less attachment to the two major parties.

     @captain_arepa From what my mom tells me of Trinidad since she was born there is that this country is such a massive shithole. The police are corrupt, the society is very divisive, and you have to choose between two parties that are both called the Black Party (People's National Movement) and the Indian Party (United National Congress), the latter currently that is now ruling the government and strongly represents Indian interests.
     
     Of course, they all have to resort to racially insulting each other for votes since the politics is very race-based, especially around the elections between the two parties lol and my mother doesn't particularly like either party because of it.
     
     The beaches are nice and so is the countryside to some extent which is where she is staying.

     @captain_arepa Yeah, my mom almost got put in the crosshair because the jeet Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar thought it would be a good idea to have a foreign radar in the country and have the country be used as a springboard for military operations by America
     
     Mom had to briefly leave the countryside in the beginning of November for neighboring Barbados before returning back to her country when the heat died down, well only a little, but the airspace is still controlled
