   the rise and fall of stackoverflow

   the graph of posts per month is quite something

   the decline over the last four years is almost a mirror of the rise 2008-2012

   and they are now down to near zero

     @fanf it's notable that growth stops around 2014 and then declines from around 2016 onwards

     before hitting the llm part in 2023 and a huge nosedive

     it makes me wonder what moderation changes or policy happened around that time, but at the same time it might just be novelty wearing off and people who previously contributed moving on

     around the same time growth plateaued

     @tef @fanf Deletion warrior culture taking over, and the flooding of Stack Exchange network with trashy sister sites doing "Q&A" on topics designed to draw in right wing asshats (Politics, Religion, History, particular ones on particular religious sects where they had to allow hate speech because much of the subject matter is hate speech, etc.) and featuring that shit in "Hot Network Questions" thereby driving away anyone reasonable.
