    Folks, if you see folks doing this, *report it*. Well moderated instances will suspend or silence accounts, and can do that even if the offending account isn't local - it limits their reach and ability to continue this kind of harassment. Moderation only works if you engage with the system.

      PSA: If someone is posting about behavior being exhausting to the point that they are considering leaving a platform, then doing more of it "as a joke" is neither supportive nor helpful. And also not funny. (This is re *two separate accounts* making a joke about mansplaining mansplaining to me on a post where I had already been mansplained about how to handle mansplaining.)

      @dalias actual people run the vast majority of instances, and the user To mod ratio is much lower than corposlop. You can have an actual impact

      @maxine Yeah, I think a lot of ppl don't know any of the instances the report gets forwarded to can choose to silence or suspend the offending account from reaching their users.

      They can also use the report as a data point to conclude the offending instance isn't worth maintaining federation with.
