   Not the most important thing, but my love for the JetBoil device (from my camping days) also means I feel like I am prepared for boiling water outdoors as long I’ve got some propane. It does it amazingly well. I also have a French press attachment for it. I should not have sold my hand crank coffee beans grinder tho.

     @skinnylatte@hachyderm.io We had a random outage last weekend that was a few hours long. I was mostly okay because I had power banks and other things, though hot water for tea was missing and that was disruptive for me.
     
     I may want to invest in a camp stove, just in case. Thank you for making me think of that. I'll need to make a purchase at REI come January to make sure I maintain my "active" membership so I can vote and take actions when the union asks.

     @bananamangodog I usually camp with people who have nice stoves and take care of the food, and I just do the coffee and tea. It’s a nice setup. The MSR systems scare me a bit with how loud they are.

     @skinnylatte I'm more of a connoisseur of camping cuisine so like the adjustability of the MSR Dragonfly multi-fuel stoves over the jetboil. The jetboil certainly boils fast though.

     @skinnylatte I was a little bummed out recently when i found out my favorite headlamp has been "improved" by the manufacturer, and no longer has a high CRI emitter. Maybe I should buy a second one while they still have stock of the original model. (edit: too late, they are already out of stock.)
