   checked ebay on mac mini g4s, they're pushing $80-100 now, obviously down to mostly the OS 9.2.2 hack but also not being in production for much more than a year before the x86 era. still pisses me off it was the cheap option like barely 2 yrs ago

     @freon I just found about three of those really small laptops they used to make, 32-bit atom. not sure if they're wortth doing anything with now that 32-bit x86 is getting abandoned

     @Moon @freon I had one of those, an eeepc 900A, the version best buy sold that had some terrible linux distro preinstalled. Great for taking notes in college classes without worrying about it dropping off the shitty half-desk, the eMMC died super fast and that killed the machine but for a long time after I could boot archbang, tails, etc off a usb thumb drive and it was still relatively useful. At least as useful as a device with no persistent storage can be.

     @duke @Moon yup, same as my toshiba. and the atom is roughly equivalent in performance to literally a pentium 3 tualatin or low-clock pentium M.

     I had a REALLY adorable little acer aspire netbook back in college
     
     the form factor was cool but everything else about it was dogshit
     
     screen was 1024x600 or something goofy like that IIRC
