     i truly haven't used rust or any of these but... Nim? Zig?

     I'm hoping I can just stay with Julia for everything I need to program given my areas of interest. one of these days soon its gonna standalone compile small binaries even

     @whitequark anything new usually starts out as worse than the established option, but given a chance, it can grow and take over, especially if it has better approach to building community

     I'm not suggesting them, I was intending it as asking for opinions about why and whether or not they qualify. because I'm interested in them. that perhaps wasn't communicated well, relied a little too heavily on the question mark.

     @dlakelan oh. I don't have any knowledge of Nim, so I can't comment on that. Zig is not solving quite the same problem, but writing a toolchain in it might be worth a try
