   Most fine dining SF restaurants try to do some Asian fusion these days and they often do it poorly (largely because they don’t do the Asian part well).

   This comment made me laugh coz it’s been my experience with most of them.

   “The fried rice tastes like the healthy fried rice my mom makes me eat at home. To be clear, I wouldn’t eat these dishes if someone gave it to me for free.”

   (This is a review of a SF restaurant I especially dislike)

     @skinnylatte wait, shaved ice? as in that thing commonly found in many neighborhoods in socal? like on street corners?

     @SRLevine well the way they do it you’d think they invented it at this restaurant. I’m not a hater, but I really hated that place. They also served me a lo mein carbonara which just tasted like making carbonara with instant noodles. And this is at like a super high end place. It was one of the most expensive meals I ever paid for and it was so… poor. And yet the reviews are so split, some people think it’s the singular best restaurant in SF!

     @skinnylatte I mean don't get me wrong, it's delicious, but I don't think anyone thinks of it as "fancy" or "special".
