@suetanvil If anybody but Microsoft had invented Powershell it would have taken over the world by now, but because it was invented by Microsoft nobody is allowed to learn anything or take any lessons from it.
@mhoye @suetanvil No, powershell is hideous because it's hideous, not because Microsoft. The right way to compose is standardized data formats, not all kinds of weird linkages, object orientedness, IPC/RPC, etc.
I'm of the opinion that Unix-style line-oriented text files are extremely underrated and nothing has yet improved on them.
Of course, I'm also old and grumpy.
