@lain Never heard about that Gebel fellow before, very interesting. I would personally go even for seasteaning early adoption, but nobody seems to willing to do the engineering on that one.
Wasn't his point with "no soul because you're poor" more that people who are poor just say it to cope?
In any case, interesting perspective from you, since if I am not mistaken you are not a >100 millionaire hustler...

@WandererUber if that was his point then i can agree, but there's tons of poor people here who are just happy that they are less poor than they'd be back home (and can live in a safe and clean country).

@WandererUber i think he's wrong about 'no soul because you're poor', that might be pretty much the reverse, if you have lots of money you can treat dubai like a theme mark and never interact with anyone else, the poorer you get the more you actually have to spend time with other people to have some fun. so i guess that point is just his retard hustler image thing.
he's on point with "why are you talking about soul when you have a dirty decaying city where you can't go out at night, there's crime everywhere and they also take half your money".
and the point he's making about "we can all leave" is important to get an idea of how the city operates. i think "monarchy without actual subjects" (actual emirati are like 5% of the population) might be the best form of government currently (until titus gebel gets those private cities in honduras and brunei going).
