   They are not advertising anyone's product. In fact, they are not advertising any product. They are just reminding us that they need donations to survive. Scary, i know.

     @ascii_only I'm glad you enjoy it. If you like, you can setup something that advertises from google and everything else on your desktop. I'm certain it's possible to setup something to put all kinds of advertising on your desktop and make lots of techbros happy.

     In the meantime, my point is the majority of people will NOT appreciate this and it WILL turn them away from this.

     I seriously think you underestimate the negative reaction that popup ads give people.
